The short version

Coop & Clutch earns a commission when you buy something through a link on this site. It costs you nothing extra - the price is the same as it would have been - and the retailer pays us a percentage of the sale. That is how the site is paid for.

The Amazon Associates statement

Coop & Clutch is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

How our links work

Every buy link on this site points at an address on our own domain in the form /go/ followed by the product, which then forwards you to the retailer. We do that so that the destination for each product lives in one configuration file: if a product moves retailer, we change one line rather than rewriting the article. It also means we can see how many people clicked, which is the only measurement we have of whether a recommendation was useful.

Commercial links are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow", carry an #ad label, and open in a new tab. Links to extension services, universities and manufacturer specification pages are ordinary links and earn us nothing.

What commission does not buy

• A ranking. Positions come from measured floor area against the maker’s own claim, computed by the identical method for every coop. That calculation does not know what anything pays.
• A good write-up. Several coops on this site are linked alongside an explanation of why we would not buy them. That is deliberate: a comparison that only links its winners is not a comparison.
• Inclusion. Nobody has paid to appear here, and no manufacturer has been given a preview, a proof or any input into what we wrote.
• A rating. There are none on this site to sell.

Prices

Prices shown on this site are pulled from the retailer’s live listing, with the date of the last check displayed alongside. If that check is more than 48 hours old, the price is removed and the button reads “check price” instead. We never type a price into a page, and prices at the retailer can change at any time - the price you see at checkout is the one that applies.

Products we cannot link

Some coops worth knowing about are sold direct by their manufacturers and are not available through any program we belong to. Where one is relevant we say so plainly and earn nothing from mentioning it. We do not build a buy button we cannot honor.

At present, the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and no others. If that changes we will update this page, and any newly earning link will be marked exactly as the existing ones are.
